Ant Mimic Jumping Spider

The more I explore nature, the more I realize how much of nature is shaped by Ants. Ants play a special role as they can dominate almost any ecosystem and are very rarely messed with. Some invertebrates have taken advantage of this and changed their body structure to mimic ants. This is an ant mimic jumping spider. Being that spiders have 8 legs, and ants have 6. These spiders complete their mimicry by holding their front legs to look like antennae. Photographed in Ecuador. Myrmarachne sp.
